A car has crashed into a solicitors' office in Bulwell.

Police are at the scene in Main Street, where a badly damaged Ford KA can be seen on the pavement outside Sheltons Solicitors.

A spokeswoman for the company, which is part of Edwards Hands and Lewis Solicitors, confirmed that the car hit the building.

She said: "We didn't actually see it. We heard it.

"The receptionist looked up and there was the car coming towards her. It's hit the wall."

Jessica Barclay, 25, of Top Valley, was heading to the hairdressers when the crash happened.

She said: "I saw three police cars ahead with flashing lights and a small peep of a red vehicle.

"I got out of my taxi and headed in that direction and saw a burgundy KA absolutely obliterated across the road. I gasped.

"An ambulance arrived shortly after 12.45pm by which point police had blocked traffic on one side of the road, causing traffic back-ups to Cinderhill island."

Nottingham City Transport has warned that the crash is causing delays to services.
