Up to 3,000 new jobs are up for grabs at two warehouses near Derby.

Boots and Argos are looking to take on thousands of temporary workers for the busy festive period at their sites in Burton.

Boots is looking to hire more than 2,000 people straight away to help deal with the Christmas rush. Available roles include warehouse operatives, warehouse admin staff and forklift truck drivers, who will receive full training.

The jobs will be at its site on the Centrum 100 industrial estate in Burton.

A spokesman said: "From tomorrow, we are running a bus service for Derby residents to be able to get to these jobs. "We have successfully employed hundreds of people from Derby during the last four years to work at Boots and this year we want to support the unemployed back into work."

There is a variety of shifts on offer, including up to 12 hour stints, night and day rotation and part-time positions with pay ranging from £8 to £9.90 an hour.

Recruitment agency Gi Group will be hiring the staff on behalf of the national pharmacy chain.

Last year's Christmas recruitment drive saw many temporary roles become permanent.

Anyone interested in the positions is asked to call Gi Group Recruitment on 07557 235788.
