Man on mobility scooter badly hurt by vicious dog in Mackworth

A man in a mobility scooter was taken to hospital after being butally attacked by a "rottweiler-type dog" in Mackworth.

The incident happened at about 9.15pm on Monday, September 4 outside the Nisa convenience store on Humbleton Drive, Mackworth, Derby.

Officers from Derbyshire police's Mackworth safer neighbourhood team have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

The 49-year old man was outside the store when the "rottweiler-type dog" tried to pull him off his mobility scooter. The man received a deep laceration to his thigh as a result of the attack.

Sergeant Mark Preston, from Derbyshire police , who is in charge of the team, said: “The incident is particularly nasty as the victim was not in the best of positions to defend himself. He has suffered an injury to his leg that required hospital treatment.
