Nottinghamshire is set to be hit by winds of up to 75mph in the early hours of the morning.
Storm Aileen will first hit Nottinghamshire at around 8pm tonight (Tuesday, September 12).
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, claiming that the storm will bring gusts of 60mph.
The storm is set to intensify early on Wednesday (September 13) morning, when gusts of between 65 and 75mph hit Nottinghamshire.
An amber weather warning shows that Nottingham and wider Nottinghamshire will be subjected to "very strong winds" between midnight and 6am on Wednesday.
A spokesman said: "Longer journey times by road, rail and air are looking likely, with restrictions on roads and bridges.
"Damage to trees and perhaps buildings, as well as power cuts are expected.
"Flying debris is possible, and this could lead to injuries."
