What Nottinghamshire Police say about Colwick Industrial Estate 'explosion'

Emergency services responded to reports of a 'gas explosion' at Colwick Industrial Estate.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police are at the scene, and are being supported by firefighters from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Two men have been taken to the Queen's Medical Centre with serious injuries.

Nottinghamshire Police, which is leading the investigation, does not believe the incident is related to terrorism.

A statement released by the force said: "We received reports of a gas explosion and collapse of a tanker just before 10:15am today. The fire and ambulance services also attended.

"We don't believe the incident is terrorism-related. Two men have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

"We have secured the scene and are working with partners to establish the cause of what happened."
