Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was reportedly seen performing a sex act in a field next to a public path.
Two women were riding their horses on the Route 68 cycle path close to Etwall when they reported seeing a man who was touching himself in a nearby field.
The alleged incident happened at around 1.50pm on Saturday (October 7).
The man is described as being chubby, in his 50s with short light coloured hair that is going grey. He was wearing a white t-shirt with a blue stripe around the bottom and blue or grey glasses.
He was said to be in a field between the path and the A516 Etwall bypass, between the A516 flyover bridge and a dismantled railway bridge on the path.
PCSO Jamie Gutberlet from Derbyshire police said: “We are very keen to find out who this man is or speak to anyone who may know who he is. The location is right next to a popular path used by families and it was at a time of day that the path would have been busy.
“It would seem that the incident was also witnessed by two cyclists using the path at the time and we would also like to speak to them about what they saw.”
The cyclists were both male and were wearing burgundy cycling clothing with the same coloured helmets.
