Fight outside Spondon pub leads to six arrests

Police have made a number of arrests following an alleged mass brawl outside a Derby bar.

Officers were called the Bank Bar, in Aspen Drive, Spondon, shortly after midnight on Saturday.

When they got there they say they were met by the sight of a number of people allegedly involved in a brawl.

Six people were arrested, including one woman was arrested on suspicion of assault and on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.

A force spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a mass brawl outside the bar at about 12.15am.

“On arrival there were lots of people fighting.

“Six people were arrested, one of whom had to be taken to hospital to receive treatment for non-serious injuries.

“The arrested people are men and women aged between 22 and 33 and all of them have been arrested on suspicion of assault.

“One of them, a 29-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault and assaulting a police officer.”
