Cocaine, cannabis, a knife, thieves, begging and drink-driving - who's been in Derby's courts?

The following people have recently been convicted at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court of the following offences:

Mitchell Waby, 22, of Station Road, Sandiacre, was fined £80 and was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge for possessing cannabis in Sandiacre on April 21.

Kevin Boddey, 31, of Southcroft, Derby, was jailed for eight weeks, suspended for a year, and was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge for possessing a knife in public in Huntingdon Green, Derby, on June 26.

Sisi Gomann, 18, of Monmouth Street, Derby, was handed an 18-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge for stealing £96 of cosmetics from Trending, in the Intu Centre, Derby, on May 24.

Saikou Bojang, 41, of Melbourne Street, Normanton, was fined £40 and was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge for using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Melbourne Street, on July 31.

Jason Breslin, 42, of Green Lane, Derby, was handed a six-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge for begging in Derby Market Place on July 7.

Tyrone Clarke, 39, of Morleston Street, Derby, was fined £120 and was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge for possessing cocaine in Sacheveral Street, Derby, on April 23.

Darren Burton, 35, of Ash Meadow, Borrowash, was handed a 12-month community order, with 80 hours unpaid work, a 12-month restraining order, and was ordered to pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge for breaching a restraining order in Derby between April 19 and 23.

Scott Hornby, 38, of Field Lane, Alvaston, was handed a 12-week community order with curfew and was ordered to pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge for breaching a restraining order by going to an address in Chaddesden he was prohibited from doing.

Max McKenzie-Cooper, 18, of Penny Long Lane, Derby, was handed an 18-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £100 compensation, £200 costs and a £20 victim surcharge for assault in Woodlands Road, Allestree, on October 14, 2016.

Callum Taylor, 26, of Curzon Street, Burton, was handed a two-year restraining order, was fined £307 and was ordered to pay £680 compensation, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge for criminal damage of a hot tub and a fence in Dewchurch Drive, Derby, on June 16.

Gary Wilkins, 51, of Langley Street, Mackworth, was handed a two-year restraining order, was fined £400 and was ordered to pay £1,000 compensation, £85 costs and a £40 victim surcharge for criminal damage of a car in Arnold Street, Derby, on July 1.

Danny Stokes, 26, of Moira Road, Woodville, was fined £120 and was ordered to pay £50 compensation, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge for assault in Hearthcote Road, Swadlincote, on January 27.

Shannon Garbett, 21, of Lord Street, Derby, was jailed for eight weeks, suspended for a year and was ordered to pay £100 compensation and £250 costs for assault in Green Lane, Derby, on October 30.

Brian Upchurch, 43, of no fixed address, was jailed for 22 weeks and was ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge for breaching a restraining order in Normanton on March 3 and failing to surrender to custody on April 20 and June 14.

Gavin Lockley, 47, of no foxed address, was handed a 12-month community order, with 100 hours unpaid work, a two-year restraining order and was ordered to pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge for assault in Park Road, Swadlincote, on July 11.

Daniel Parkes, 40, of Norman Street, Ilkeston, was jailed for 18 weeks and was ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge for breaching a criminal behaviour order by being drunk in public in Ilkeston on August 1.

Philip Tempest, 51, of Beaufort Road, Stenson Fields, was jailed for 16 weeks, suspended for a year, was ordered to carry out 150 hours unpaid work and was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge for assault in Stenson Fields on June 22.

Daniel Hodgkinson, 36, of Regent Street, Church Gresley, was handed a 12-month community order and was ordered to pay £100 compensation, £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge for assault in Woodville on June 23.

Dail Kang, 71, of Keswick Avenue, Sunny Hill, was handed a 12-month community order and was ordered to pay £120 compensation, £620 costs and an £85 victim surcharge for assault on April 20.

Danielle Beechey, 32, of Doncaster Grove, Long Eaton, was fined £120, was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £30 victim surcharge and had her licence endorsed with six penalty points for failing to give information relating to the identification of a drive alleged to be guilty of an offence on or after January 12.

Alan Webster, 33, of no fixed address, was jailed for 16 weeks and was ordered to pay a £E115 victim surcharge for possessing cocaine at St Mary’s Wharf police stat6ion on August 2 and for using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Bradshaw Way, Derby, on July 15. The offence piut him in breach of a suspended sentence for entering a building in Derby as a trespasser and stealing a till and bottles of wine on July 10.

Lewis Powdrill, 20, of Noskwith Street, Ilkeston, was handed a six-month conditional discharge, was ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and was disqualified from driving for six months for speeding at 41mph on a 30mph limit in Ladywood Road, Kirk Hallam, on December 17.

Malcolm Morley, 57, of Rowan Avenue, Ripley was fined £330, was ordered to pay £620 costs, a £33 victim surcharge and was disqualified from driving for 20 months for failing to provide a sample of blood for analysis when required at St Mary’s Wharf police station, Chester green, on November 28.

Andrew Prime, 32, of Randolph Road, Normanton, was fined £438, was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £43 victim surcharge and was disqualified from driving for 12 months for drink driving in Nottingham Road, Derby, on June 29.

Robert Ready, 41, of Collingwood Road, Long Eaton, was jailed for 18 weeks, was ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge and was disqualified from driving for two years for taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance, all in Diamond Close, Sawley, on March 10.

Blake Roan, 24, of Harrington Street, Draycott, was fined £360, was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £36 victim surcharge and was disqualified from driving for two years for drink driving in Pride park, Derby, on April 14.
