Police are hunting a pervert who was seen performing a sex act in public on four separate occasions in South Derbyshire.

The latest incidents happened between Monday, October 15, and Wednesday, October 17, in Deepdale Lane, Barrow-on-Trent.

A 34-year-old woman was driving near to the Deep Dale canal bridge at about 3am, when she saw a man standing on the bridge sexually exposing himself.

Within the next two nights the same woman saw the same man twice more, but on these occasions he was walking towards her vehicle performing a sex act.

Police are now linking the case to a previous incident which happened at 1.50pm on October 7 when two women were riding horses on the Route 68 cycle path near Etwall. They reported seeing what they described as a "chubby man" who was touching himself sexually in a nearby field.

Derbyshire police are now appealing for witnesses to try and trace the suspect.

PC Joe Stafford, from the Hilton, Hatton and Etwall Safer Neighbourhood Team, who is investigating, said: “We are concerned about these incidents and are determined to trace the suspect.

“There are similarities to the incidents earlier in the month near Etwall and we are investigating the possibility that they are linked.

“The only description we have of the suspect in Barrow-on-Trent is that he was a white man.

“I would ask that if anyone has witnessed similar incidents and hasn’t reported it to us that they now do so. I would also make a plea that if anyone with a dashcam, who regularly drives along that route, check their footage to see if it has picked anything up that they may have missed whilst driving.”
