Police have vowed to shut down an “illegal rave” being held in Derbyshire this weekend.

Officers said they have received information suggesting an illicit party could be held in Hollingwood, near Chesterfield, and promised to “disband the event” if it goes ahead.

Derbyshire police is urging people not to attend the rave and asked parents to warn their children against going.

A force spokesman said: “We are warning parents in the Chesterfield area that an illegal ‘rave’ may be taking place in Hollingwood and our officers will be attending to disband the event.

“The event is scheduled for this weekend and officers are urging people not to go. Parents are asked to warn their children against attending.

“Officers went to a similar event in Hollingwood earlier this month due to concerns around drug taking at the venue.”
