A large number of used needles have been found littering a Nottingham cemetery.

Nottingham Operational Support Unit (part of the City Council) tweeted on Tuesday, October 24, that they had made a “big needle find” in Nottingham General Cemetery in the Arboretum area of the city.

The tweet read: “Disgusting and disrespectful! Big needle find in General Cemetery.

“Clean-up arranged and detail of potential offenders supplied to police.”

Used needles were found filling a flower pot on a grave and inside a discarded bottle of alcohol.

A city council spokesman said: “It’s disappointing to find drug paraphernalia discarded in a cemetery in this way.

“We carry out regular patrols and will always clear up and where possible investigate so that action can be taken against those responsible.”
