Meggitt will move a number of operations into the 440,000 sq ft ‘supersite’, which will accommodate up to 1,000 employees.

Services and R&D operations at Prospero will include Meggitt’s aircraft braking systems, control systems, customer services and corporate shared services.

Completion is expected for late 2019.

Prospero is a 2m sq ft development by property developers Manse and Opus Land, backed by Palmer Capital.

Rolls-Royce, which owns the freehold, will retain a factory onsite for its civil aerospace industry.

“We believe that this is the first deal of many more to come from businesses that recognise the importance of this location,” said David Mitchell and Richard Smith of Manse Opus.

“We also believe that this is the largest manufacturing deal in the Midlands for many years.”

Joint letting agents for Prospero are JLL and Knight Frank.
