A1 expected to be closed for some time due to four-vehicle crash

The A1 near Grantham is expected to be closed for several hours after a four-vehicle crash.

The accident happened close to the turn off for Long Bennington, near Grantham, at around 4.43pm today (December 6).

Highways England has confirmed that the road is blocked and it is expected to remain closed for some time.

The road is partially blocked between the Allington/Foston turn-off and the Long Bennington north junction.

Lincolnshire Police, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue are at the scene.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue has Tweeted to say that one person is being cut free from the vehicle.

No updates have been given on whether anyone has been seriously injured.
