Staff who worked at a juice bar in the Intu Derby shopping centre are devastated after the business suddenly shut.
The Fuel Juice Bar had been trading in Intu's West Mall for almost two years but it has been closed since the start of this week.
Signs have now been put up at the outlet stating that “Fuel Juice Bars E&W Ltd” has gone into administration, with RSM Restructuring Advisory appointed as administrators.
The closure of the store has been confirmed by Intu Derby, which said in a statement: “We are sorry to confirm that the Fuel Juice Bar at Intu Derby has closed yesterday due to some outlets going into administration.”
Fuel Juice Bars is a juice bar operator with outlets in shopping centres across England, Scotland and Wales, serving a range of fruit smoothies and juices.
It is believed that the closure of the Derby outlet has resulted in the loss of around seven jobs.
One former member of staff at the Derby store, who did not want to be named, said: “We were given no notice that this was going to happen and now we have been left without a job just three weeks before Christmas.
“We have been given a week’s pay, which will not see us through until we find other jobs meaning many of us risk losing houses and not being able to support loved ones or even celebrate Christmas.”
The staff member said it is believed the Derby outlet was one of nine of 38 Fuel Juice Bars to close nationally.
The Derby Telegraph has contacted RSM for a response but it has not come back.
