Masked men armed with baseball bat rob two women while parking their car in Sneinton

Police are appealing for witnesses after two women were robbed in their car.

The incident happened this morning (Wednesday, December 6) at around 3.30am in Lichfield Road, Sneinton.

Officers believe the two women, aged 27 and 57, were parking their car when a white transit van pulled up alongside them.

Four men wearing balaclavas got out the vehicle. One had a baseball bat, and two others went inside the car.

They took the key and a number of items from inside.

The force said one of the women sounded the horn repeatably and shouted, which is when the men escaped.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said the van travelled down Lichfield Road, from the direction of Sneinton Boulevard.

It said: "The van was believed to be a white Ford Transit Connect with brown writing on the side and rear doors, as shown in the two attached CCTV images.

"If anyone has any information, please call us on 101, quoting incident number 55 of 6 December 2017."
