Man charged with having offensive weapon outside McDonald's on New Year's Day

A man has been charged after what police have described as a 'disturbance' outside McDonald's.

Nottinghamshire Police received reports of the disturbance outside the restaurant in Clumber Street at around 4.20am on Monday 1, 2018.

Dureece Smith, 20, of Ransom Road, Mapperley, has been charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Police have charged a man following a disturbance outside a restaurant in Nottingham.

Officers received a report of a disturbance outside McDonald's in Clumber Street which happened at around 4.20am on Monday (1 January 2018)."

He has been bailed to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on January 30, 2017.
