This was the crash which closed the A52 for over three hours

This was the scene yesterday, Monday January 8, after a van and lorry collided on the A52.

The crash happened near Sedgebrook on the Notts / Lincolnshire border.

Firefighters from Bingham and Grantham attended the incident, and crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to cut one person free.

The van ended up in a ditch, and the road was closed in both directions following the incident at 3.50pm.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix said police reported at 5.12pm that: "A52 both ways blocked, slow traffic due to accident, car and van involved near Rectory Lane.

"A car and a van have collided with one of the vehicles reported to have left the carriageway. Affecting traffic between Barrowby and Sedgebrook."

Lincolnshire Police said the road had reopened at 8.28pm and that there were no injuries.
