Winnie Man, 46, regional manager from Manchester said: “My journey has been really affected by this. I’m supposed to be going to Cambridge and then Oxford but now I’m contemplating missing out Cambridge all together.
“It’s been so crazy out here today, but all the staff have been so helpful.
“It’s just a case of finding alternative routes.”
Samir Baba, 25, of Leicester, is an IT consultant and he finished his night shift at 8am to go back to Leicester only to find himself stranded.
He said: “I got here about 8 and it was chaos. I couldn’t see the fire itself but the whole area is cordoned off.
“I commute every day between Nottingham and Leicester so now i am waiting for a replacement bus to get me back home.
“When the day shift people were coming into work some of them saw the fire and they said it was really big.”
