This is the moment a fly-tipper is caught on camera illegally dumping rubbish in the car park of a medical centre in Derby.

The CCTV footage shows a man removing waste from the boot of his car and leaving it in the staff car park at Derby Family Medical Centre in Hastings Street, Normanton.

The incident was recorded at just after 7pm on Monday, January 8, and has been reported to Derby city council.

Wali Zain, a clerk at the medical centre, said the rubbish includes household waste such as carpeting and wood.

He added: “This is not the first time this has happened either. The car park is a secluded area, there are no houses nearby and it’s quite dark so people think they won’t be caught.

“But it’s disgraceful. He can dispose of it properly at the tip for free so I don’t understand why he's done it because he's risking a large fine and a criminal record.

"The waste hasn’t been removed yet. We’ve got big general waste bins at the centre too which people sometimes fill up with their own waste which means we can’t always use them.

“Something needs to be done about it.”
