Child taken to hospital after Ilkeston house fire

A child has been taken to hospital after a fire at a house in Ilkeston.

Firefighters were called to a house on Bloomsgrove Road at 1.06pm on Tuesday (February 13).

Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and a positive pressure fan to ventilate the house.

Paramedics from East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the incident and took a child to hospital.

A cat was also rescued from the blaze and given oxygen by firefighters.

The incident had been dealt with by 2.39pm.
