Live updates as overturned lorry causes heavy traffic off M1 in Derbyshire

Motorists are being warned to expect long delays near Chesterfield as a busy road has been closed due to an overturned vehicle.

Police have shut the westbound carriageway of the A617 between Junction 29 of the M1 and the B6425 Hassocky Lane.

Heavy traffic continues to build in the area while the incident is dealt with. It is mainly affecting traffic between Junction 29 of the M1 and Chesterfield.

Traffic information service Inrix says: "There is an incident on the A617 Westbound.

"This is from M1 J29 (Chesterfield / Mansfield, Heath) to B6425 Hassocky Lane (Temple Normanton) where there is an overturned vehicle.

The road is closed, there is heavy traffic. The vehicle overturned around 12:45pm and is affecting traffic between the M1 J29 and Chesterfield.
