Aldi wants to put new stores in these towns and suburbs across Derbyshire.

The 10 places have been earmarked for possible further expansion by the budget supermarket chain.

The list includes towns such as Matlock and Buxton and South Normanton.

However, Derby itself is also on Aldi’s wishlist, with Allestree, Alvaston and south Derby nominated for expansion.

The supermarket has been on an expansion drive in recent years as it targets having 1,200 stores open by 2025.

It currently has over 880 stores in the UK.

The full list of 10 locations earmarked for new stores is as follows:

  • Buxton
  • Allestree
  • Alvaston
  • Castle Gresley
  • Derby (south)
  • Matlock
  • South Normanton
  • Swadlincote
  • Wirksworth
  • Woodville

Ciaran Aldridge, national property director at Aldi UK, said: “Aldi is growing rapidly and we are welcoming around a million new customers into our stores every year.

“But there are also hundreds of towns across the UK where there is not an Aldi, meaning there are hundreds of thousands of people who can’t easily access the high quality, affordable food our customers love.
