Pedestrian trapped underneath vehicle after collision with car in Belgrave

A pedestrian was left trapped underneath a vehicle after a collision involving a car.

The incident was first reported at around 7.30pm today (Tuesday, September 8) in Harrison Road, Belgrave.

Emergency services were called to the incident, which was said to involve a car and a pedestrian.

Two appliances from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service were called to help East Midlands Ambulance Service treat the pedestrian, who was trapped underneath a vehicle.

Both the driver and the pedestrian were conscious and breathing when emergency services arrived.

The pedestrian was successfully extracted and transported to Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, shortly after 8pm.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary.

The severity of their injuries is unknown.

Leicestershire Police did not confirm whether any arrests had been made in connection to the incident.
