This weekend you can get a free fish and chips from your local shop.

The government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme may have ended but those who want a weekend takeaway can still get a big discount on their order.

An online deals website is promising to pay the cost of a chippy meal to anybody who keeps hold of their receipt as long as they are a new member of the site.

Once you've done that you can sign up and send it to TopCashback who will give you back £5.

So as long as you spend less than £5 you'll receive your order completely free, or if you go a little over the £5 to get sauce or a battered sausage you'll only have to pay the extra.

To redeem the £5 and get a free fish and chips just follow these steps:

  • Purchase your fish and chips from any UK shop before September 13.
  • Then submit an image of your fish and chips purchase (either the meal or a receipt) to your TopCashback account
  • If you are submitting a receipt make sure the eligible items purchased and date are clearly visible on the photo.
  • You'll then receive £5 cashback for your fish and chips into your TopCashback account
  • The offer is only valid to new members of TopCashback and items can only be claimed once per receipt

By taking part in the offer you'll be able to support a local business while also receiving some money back for yourself.

To sign up to TopCashback and claim your free fish and chips this weekend go to the website here.
