Timothy Castagne is in line to make his Leicester City debut this weekend as part of an unorthodox defence.
The Belgian international full-back, City’s sole summer signing so far this window, has been with the club for less than a week, but manager Brendan Rodgers said he would have no hesitation about putting the 24-year-old into his line-up to face West Brom in the Premier League opener on Sunday afternoon.
With Ricardo Pereira injured and Ben Chilwell sold, Castagne and James Justin are the favourites to get the nod at full-back, and both can operate on either the right or left side.
