Workers and residents line streets in touching tribute to refuse lorry driver with 'heart of gold'

Council workers lined the streets today to pay a touching tribute to a much-loved refuse lorry driver after his death.

Refuse workers finished their rounds early today so they could park their lorries on the roads along the route of the funeral cortege for Lee Percival.

The workers were able to show their respects after residents put their bins out by 6.30am today following a request from Blaby District Council to allow them to finish their rounds early.

Andy Tipton crewed with Lee for six years as they did a refuse collection round covering Blaby, Countesthorpe, Kirby Muxloe, Brunstone, Cosby,  Glenfield, Sapcote and Enderby.
