Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said it is ‘necessary and proportionate’ to keep in place a ban on people in Leicester meeting in homes and gardens to stop the spread of coronavirus.
The Government announced last night that it would be relaxing some elements of the Leicester lockdown restrictions from Tuesday, which will allow more businesses to open bringing the city in line with most of the rest of the country.
However, limitations on social gatherings will remain in place until the next review of measures which the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) days will take place by September 24.
