7-mile diversion route for drivers while 400m of road is repaired

A seven-mile-long diversion has been drawn up for drivers affected by the closure of a 400 metre section of a road.

A part of Melton Spinney Road, in Melton, is due to be closed for a day, between 7.30am and 6pm, later this month to allow roadworks to be carried out.

Due to the 'carriageway resurfacing works', which will take place on September 23, the county council has released details on the planned diversion route .

The proposed alternative diversion route will be via Melton Spinney Road, Thorpe Side, Church Street, King Street, Melton Road, Scalford Road, Norman Way A607, Thorpe Road A607.

The same diversion route also applies for the other direction.
