The new owners of a historic Peak District hotel say they have big plans for the site.

The Riverside House Hotel in Ashford-in-the-Water, near Bakewell, has been taken over by a pair of restaurateurs from Sheffield.

Alistair Myers and Tom Lawson, who run Rafters Restaurant in Sheffield, say they were immediately taken with the Grade II-listed building, which has been on the site since 1620.

The pair have long harboured ambitions to run a hotel and they couldn't pass up the opportunity when offered the chance to take on the property.
