Almost 200 new coronavirus cases were confirmed across the city and county over the weekend.
Some 99 cases were added to the city’s toll - bringing it to 6,142 since the start of lockdown.
Across the county 91 cases were added to cumulative totals. Broken down to district and borough areas, Charnwood saw the biggest increase with 21 new cases. Blaby district, an area of concern for public health bosses, also saw a rise of 20 cases.
Oadby and Wigston, an area that was previously in local lockdown along with Leicester, saw another 18 new cases. Hinckley and Bosworth added 14 cases to its toll and Harborough’s toll increased by nine.
