A council is set to agree to a developer’s controversial plans to backtrack on a traffic promise involving the A38 through Derby.

Firms CEG Land Promotions Limited and Robert William Walmsley have applied to renege on a promise agreed in October 2018 as part of approved plans to build hundreds of homes at New House Farm, Mickleover.

They have asked South Derbyshire District Council if it can move families in to more than 317 homes on its 1,100 home development before works to improve the A38, at Kingsway, are complete.
