One of Nottingham's oldest bars announces major changes

It would have turned 21 in November - but one of Nottingham's oldest bars has announced 'the monkey has gone to heaven'.

Brass Monkey, known as the late-night venue where the city's bartenders and restaurant staff go to drink after their shifts have ended, has announced the end.

"Brass Monkey as you know it is now closed," said a 'sad times' announcement on its Facebook page.

However, the owner of the bar which has been closed since lockdown in March, has dropped a heavy hint that something new and and exciting will be happening at the site in High Pavement, in the Lace Market.
