Police arrest 2 women in connection with drug smuggling at Nottinghamshire prison

Police have arrested two women as part of an ongoing investigation into drug smuggling at HMP Ranby in Nottinghamshire.

Officers made the arrests following warrants at properties in Andover Road, Bestwood and Bulwell's Wingbourne Walk on Tuesday, September 15.

The women, aged 44 and 53, were arrested on suspicion of conspiring to bring a prohibited items into the Nottinghamshire prison.

Detective Sergeant Luke Todd, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We are committed to working alongside our partners to make sure those involved in serious and organised crime are pursued.

“Anyone found to be helping inmates carry out their illicit enterprises from their prison cells can expect to find themselves in serious trouble.
