London City Airport became the latest employer to announce major job losses since the start of the pandemic as it revealed plans that could see more than a third of the roles at the airport cut.

The airport has announced it is cutting up to 239 jobs as part of “crucial restructuring plans”.

The proposals mean 35% of roles could be lost across the airport.

Scheduled flights are currently operating to 17 destinations but passenger numbers are well below normal levels.
