Year nine pupils at city secondary school told to self-isolate

A city secondary school with more than 1,100 pupils is the latest to confirm a coronavirus case.

Year nine children at St Paul’s Catholic School, on Spencefield Lane, have been asked to self-isolate for 14 days following news there had been a case ‘within’ the school.

An email sent to parents today said: “For any student that was in the affected bubble, parents were contacted, the students were collected immediately and have been instructed to self isolate for 14 days in accordance with PHE advice.

“If parents were not contacted directly by school yesterday it meant that your child was not in the affected bubble and therefore, providing your child remains well, they can continue
