Within two weeks of reopening for the new academic year, 26 schools across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire have now been affected by cases of coronavirus.
Both staff and pupils have been among the confirmed cases since schools made a full return from September 1.
It has led to hundreds of youngsters being told to go home and self-isolate for 14 days across the city and county.
In some cases, the whole school has had to close, such as Mellers Primary School in Radford, which was the first school to confirm a positive case.
Other schools have been able to identify who has made close contact, allowing the rest of the school to remain open.
