The headteacher of a Nottinghamshire secondary school has hit out at the 'slow response and unclear guidance' from Public Health England.
It comes as four year groups at Carlton Le Willows Academy were told not to attend school on Wednesday, September 16, after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.
The school in Gedling announced the news on its website on Tuesday, telling pupils in years 8, 9, 10 and 12 not to attend the site.
But headteacher Craig Weaver has since revealed why such drastic action had to be taken despite having "a raft of measures" in place to ensure there was a low risk of infection throughout the school grounds.
