A snack maker which was founded in 1886 has said the Covidd-19 pandemic has helped sales jump 10 per cent during 2020.
Whitworths, which is headquartered in Irthlingborough, near Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, said the coronavirus crisis has impacted "favourably" on its sales.
It comes as newly filed documents for its 12 months to 28 December 2019 show the company's turnover going from £117.7m to £117.4m while its pre-tax losses went from £2.1m to £2m.
Its operating loss of £1.1m, down from £1.5m, reduced year on year as it "continues to refocus the cost base in building the foundations for the future growth of the company".
