A blocked phone call to a woman's phone led to her partner holding the device above his head "with all his power" and throwing it to the floor.
The phone smashed, Nottingham Magistrates' Court heard, as Karl Powley was sentenced for causing criminal damage to her phone.
Powley, 28, of Ray Street, Heanor, had been out for a walk with the woman on April 24.
He had her phone and was trying to make a call when he noticed she had a missed call from a blocked phone number.
She explained to him she had not been cheating on him.
They decided to walk back to their address but Powley continued to scream and shout
