A tightening of coronavirus restrictions in Oadby and Wigston is ‘extremely likely’ according to the area’s MP.
Neil O’Brien said on Twitter this morning that the huge rise in cases there and the fact that the borough has the second-highest rate in the country is ‘very concerning’.
He also revealed that the positive test rate is ‘twice the national average’ and said: “It seems extremely likely that there will be some kind of tightening of measures to try and bring things back under control.
“I will be making the case for any intervention to be as focused and undisruptive as possible.”
