Police name pedestrian, 84, who died in crash with motorcycle

An 84-year-old pedestrian died when he was hit by a motorcycle on a busy Nottinghamshire road.

Officers were called to the incident on the A6006 Rempstone Road, Normanton-on-Soar, at about 11.40am on Sunday, September 13.

Sidney Armett, 84, of Osgathorpe near Loughborough, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A motoryclist was arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care while over the prescribed limit. He has been released under investigation.

The rider was also taken to hospital with injuries which were not believed to be life-threatening.

Nottinghamshire Police have confirmed Mr Armett was a dad of four daughters.
