Sewer works are set to shut a new cycle path and affect city centre traffic for up to five days.
Contractors will be digging up the section of Aylestone Road in Leicester between the Tigers Stadium and Leicester Royal Infirmary.
That means from Friday the city-bound traffic will be limited to two lanes, while the pop-up cycle lane introduced at the beginning of the lockdown will be shut. The bus lane will also be out of use.
There will be marshals in the area advising cyclists and pedestrians where to cross the road.
The stretch affected by the work will be along Aylestone Road between its junctions with Welford Road and Filbert Street East.
