Officials have issued a rogue traders alert after a series of reports of con artists visiting homes in the city and taking cash for their 'services'.
Trading standards officers at Leicester City Council warned residents two distinct scams are being reported by members of the public at the moment.
Officers have received complaints about callers pretending to be from the city council and offering free or subsidised boiler supplies and others saying they are in the area doing roofing work.
The callers do not carry an identification and do not leave contact details - making them virtually impossible to trace.
