Mark Morrison and the city mayor have met to discuss plans to tackle knife crime in Leicester.
Morrison, best known for his song 'Return of the Mack', which currently sits at number 43 in this week's digital song sales charts, wants to set up a recording studio in the city.
The studio will act as a creative hub for young people to find a way into the music industry.
He also hopes that the project will prevent young people from pursuing a life of crime by giving them a creative outlet.
