The reasons why a man drowned in a Long Eaton canal remain a mystery a year and a half after his death, an inquest has concluded.
Thomas Boyle, described as a "talented and sensitive" man, died in March 2019 after his body was recovered from the Erewash Canal, along Derby Road.
The 37-year-old, whose body was initially discovered by a member of the public, was found in the morning of March 16 and was later formally identified after his driving licence and library card were discovered.
Derbyshire Live reports that an inquest at Derby and Derbyshire Coroner's Court heard how Mr Boyle's medical cause of death was recorded as drowning following a postmortem examination.
