Cyclist who ran a red light threw his bike down and kicked a driver's door

A cyclist who ran a red light and caused a driver to do an emergency stop ended up throwing his bike down and kicking the passenger side of his car.

Darral Bennett, 46, of Green Lane, Clifton, encountered the driver of a Toyota Auris in Maid Marian Way, Nottingham, at 9.30pm on June 26.

The motorist drove from Angel Row onto Maid Marian Way and went through a green light correctly when the defendant was on a bike travelling at speed, Nottingham Magistrates' Court heard.

"He (the driver) had to apply his emergency break," explained Daniel Pietryka, prosecuting. Bennett then went through a red light and followed the driver to traffic lights
