A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after colliding with a car.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service received a call from East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) at around 6pm today (October 11).

The report concerned a collision involving a motorcycle and a car on the A6 in Great Glen, Leicester.

An fire engine from Wigston and another from Leicester Central fire station were sent to the scene of the crash.

The motorcyclist received roadside first aid from EMAS before being taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire by ambulance.
