Overall there have been far fewer cases and lower mortality rates in Lincolnshire than in many other areas across the UK throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

And although the number of positive coronavirus cases is rising in parts of the county, the rate is nothing like that in neighbouring Nottinghamshire, where in Nottingham alone there were 2,532 new cases between September 30 and October 6.

This brought the total number of cases in Nottingham to 4,963 with 238 deaths. Elsewhere in Nottinghamshire, Broxtowe has had 278 new cases and Rushcliffe 288.

In comparison, during the same period, Lincoln has 94 new cases, bringing the total to 601, with 29 deaths.
