Emergency services tackle fire at fast food restaurant in Nottingham

The emergency services closed a road in Nottingham city centre as a fire at a fast food venue was brought under control.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service told Nottinghamshire Live it is believed a fast food restaurants is ablaze on Alfreton Road.

The incident was first reported at 5.18pm on October 13 and the road has been closed.

Speaking at the scene, Station Manager Craig Day, of Notts Fire and Rescue, told Nottinghamshire Live: "It was a developed fire at Max's Pizza in the cooking area.

"The crews have extinguished it. There are two flats above so we did a search to make sure everyone was accounted for, but they were unoccupied."
