'Reckless' students slapped with hefty fines for partying across Nottingham as Tier 2 lockdown looms

Police officers slapped eight students with fines totalling some £1,600 for hosting illegal parties across Nottingham city centre.

The parties took place early on Tuesday October 13, in an apartment in the Marco Island high-rise in Brook Street, as well as another in the Litmus Building in Huntingdon Street and one within a house in Johnson Road, Radford.

Nottinghamshire Police says officers were called out to the properties between 1am and 3am.

The hefty fines come as Nottingham and the wider county faces tighter restrictions as of October 14, with coronavirus cases continuing to rise.

Restrictions imposed from tomorrow include no mixing with other households indoors, while the rule of six will
